Welcome to the CORIO Dance Sample Class

How the class works and what you'll need

CORIO Dance is a 50 minute class designed to get you moving, get the heart rate pumping and target the legs, glutes and core through HIIT training.  This sample class is a high impact session.  If a move does not work for you, please feel free to adapt the workout or simply observe.  Our teacher training will cover how to teach low impact classes as well. 

The class is divided into two halves. Part 1 is where we'll work on HIIT training, and you simply follow along with the moves.

In Part 2, we'll learn a routine to our 'Show Song', by breaking it down into sections to learn slowly then finally, putting it all together. 

 

At the end, we'll do the whole routine 3 times:

1) Mark It - to see how it all  fits together

2) Rehearsal - give it go

3) Full Out - Sweat and Dance!

This routine is high impact and you'll need a pair of shoes and a mat or something soft to lie on for our abs section.


Teaching Notes:

This video is from one of our at-home workouts, and there are differences between teaching an at-home class and a studio class.  The main difference is that you will NOT do the entire HIIT tracks alongside your class, you'll simply demo moves and cue your students, which makes the class a lot easier to teach. You'll also be able to face a mirror and teach this section without having to mirror your students. 

We don't expect clients to get the moves in one class and we usually repeat the same routine for at least two weeks so that you can really get to know the moves and dance it!  If this is your first time taking a CORIO Dance class, try it at least two times and see if the format feels more natural the second time around for you too. Most of all, have fun!
