None! Sometimes the best teachers come from the most unexpected backgrounds. If you’ve taught group fitness, dance, or have a movement background you’ll find the training easier than if you’re starting from scratch. If you’re a complete newbie, you’ll get the essentials to kick start your dance fitness career with CORIO.

You've got 6 months from joining to take your test out. We’ll be giving you access to each module in the course weekly, and you’ll have plenty of time to rehearse the moves, and learn the skills you need to master dance fitness with CORIO.

Whether it takes you a couple of days after completing the program to be ready for test out, or a couple of months, or even the full 6 months, going through this training will help you be fully prepped to stand at the front.

This program will give you everything you need to teach CORIO Dance straight away, but every employer may require different qualifications.

(Although you don't need them to teach CORIO, we recommend all our instructors get a group fitness certification if they start teaching regularly.)

We recommend you check your potential employers requirements and check your local jurisdiction's requirements for insurance and further training.

We created CORIO to feel like a dance class, but to be as effective a workout as possible.

Most dance fitness classes don’t teach a full routine, like a dance class. And some are focused solely on dancing non-stop rather than getting a scientific workout.

In CORIO, our aim is to give a great cardio workout that burns fat, sculpts and tones. We use specific routines to push the body into fat-burning zone and specific movements to target key trouble-spots, like abs, glutes and legs. The first half of the class uses HIIT to do this, while the second half uses steady-state cardio to prevent fatty acids from re-entering the bloodstream.

That’s the geek part.

But the best thing is that you’ll create all the moves in class that culminate in one heart-pumping, sweat-inducing dance routine that will feel like you’re flashing back to MTV…

There is nothing like CORIO out there.

CORIO’s soundtrack uses EDM classics, dance pop and thumping remixes to create an Ibiza meets Saturday-night-out-with-your-besties vibe.

You don’t have to use our playlists, and you have creative freedom to add your music to the mix. However, if you’re teaching CORIO Dance, we ask that you stick with 80% dance/pop tracks.

(We generally don’t use hip hop, or world music, but we have been known to throw in a few ‘back in the day’ classics from all genres.)

CORIO Dance is a high impact class with moves that include jumps and turns. However, you can easily teach CORIO Dance as a low impact class. In fact, we did just that for over a year when starting out so we know it’s still an awesome workout! At the moment we don’t have a specific low impact version of the class and choreography, but we are planning to release a workshop later this year, and there are low impact options in our library.

No. We teach a core conditioning section in class that you might find more comfortable with a yoga mat, but the class can be adapted to work without any mats.

We are in the process of applying for accreditation from AFAA and ACE. If you are looking for CEC’s, we provide a certificate of completion with the hours shown that you can submit to your awarding body to apply for CEC’s.

This course will teach you how to use the CORIO Dance format to create your own dance classes, from our library of moves.
On certification you'll get FREE access to the CORIO Academy where we've given you a starting bundle. This is currently free for all teachers.

Yes! This certification is valid globally. All of our training is in English.

The test-out has been updated to enable you to submit from home, without needing live classes to teach. When you complete the training for each section, you simply upload a video of you either teaching to camera, or filmed behind you as if in class.

The videos are staggered, (for example, you can send us your warm up, then your HIIT training, then the dance section) to prevent overwhelm and give you space to take the training at your own pace.

You don’t have to do it live, you can re-record it and try again, and it’s there to give you helpful feedback.

In the unlikely event that you don’t pass your test out, which we will only suggest we don’t think you’re truly ready to teach, you’ll be given pointers on what to improve and invited to re-submit within 3 months.
